Features of packing in sachet bags
The dispensing and packaging process is a complex technical operation, the difficulty of which lies in the choice of the optimal packaging method and the corresponding filling and packaging equipment.
Technological equipment for food production is specified by a high degree of reliability and quality of the operation carried out, which has a positive effect on the packaging process. The filling process is directly related to the type of dispenser, and the packaging is related to the type of packing material.
Types of packages
There are several types of packaging materials in demand nowadays: flow pack, doy pack, stick, sachet. Each of them is designed for a specific product. Flow pack is most often used for packing loose free-flowing and small-piece products, doy pack is typical for liquid and pasty products, stick pack is widely used for packing loose and dusty substances in small doses, sachet packs are common among enterprises engaged in the production of tea and coffee (coffee packaging in sachet bags).
Features of sachet bags
Sachet bags are formed using automated single-line or multi-line form, fill and seal machines. A horizontal or vertical filling machine fulfills the task very quickly. The main material of sachet bags is the heat-sealable film. Tea manufacturers produce their products in square bags most often, but tea also can be packed in both triangular and round bags.
A sachet bag is used to pack not only tea, but also sugar, salt, shampoo, gel, and coffee. The dimensions of the package can vary: its length can be in the range of 30-40 mm, and its width can be 120-170 mm. Dosing is fulfilled with volumetric, screw or liquid dispensers.
The sachet bag has an analogue — a pillow bag, so-called a big stick. A free-flowing, granular, difficult-to-flow or liquid product has been packed into pillow bags, so the used material before was dense — durable duplicated cellophane. Nowadays, flexible heat-sealable packaging is used as a packing material.
Operation principle
The form, fill and sealing machine forms a bag using a forming tube, then pulls the packaging sleeve, the transverse seams of the folded bag are separated from the finished package along with the filling of the product.
Packing material
The choice of packaging material is related to its strength. The material must protect the product well from mechanical damage, otherwise the consumer will refuse to buy, which will reduce sales and increase the manufacturer’s costs. Therefore, propylene film of different thicknesses is most often used.
The material must be not only durable, but also environmentally friendly, airtight and hygienic.
Environmental friendliness is associated with care for the environment, the duration of the package decomposition. Hygiene means preserving the properties of the product itself, tightness prevents foreign substances from spilling and penetrating into the package.
